“Very often when I am on stage at the end of concert in London or Berlin or wherever, I think of one of my former students who is playing a recital in his own college – perhaps at that very moment, for we keep in close touch- and I am glad that I have been able to transmit something of my experiences. To know that you have a part in making that person a sun in his own universe – no matter how small – that is really a wonderful feeling.”
